Ever sit through a presidential debate and think, "Man, these candidates keep talking about the same things over and over again"?

Google Politics and Election created an infographic that examines which issues -- social, economic, trending and foreign policy-related -- have been the most talked about in the 2004, 2008 and 2012 election cycles.

Check out the graphic below to see which ones, past and present, have been the top driving forces of conversation over the past eight years. Interesting notes: searches for "register to vote" are down compared to previous elections, while those for "gay marriage," "Afghanistan," "national debt" and "middle class" are up.
