Welcome to this morning's edition of "First To Know," a series in which we keep you in the know on what's happening in the digital world.

Today, we're looking at three particularly interesting stories. Google Fiber — Google’s Internet technology that offers speeds of up to 1 gigabit per second — just isn’t good enough for the company. According to USA Today, the tech company’s working toward speeds of up to 10 gigabits per second. NBC is reporting Edward Snowden may not have been as honest as he once claimed. And, voice-calling and messaging app Viber will be acquired by Japanese retailer Rakuten Inc.
