The new Google Twitter app is a product of the just released @anyhwere developer tools and is a Google Labs experiment with a singular purpose -- to recommend Twitter users. Plug in your Twitter name and Google Follow Finder will return a set of Twitter users you might like.

It's quite remedial though -- you can't log in until after you choose to follow someone, so lists will likely include users you already follow. Follow Finder does split recommendations into "Tweeps you might like" and "Tweeps with similar followers" and highlights each Twitter user's most recent tweet.

The formula, which takes into account public follower lists, does appear to be accurate in terms of recommendations, but in testing we experienced errors during the Twitter Connect process. We're assuming they'll iron out the kinks in the near future.
