Google Maps Brings Bike Directions to 6 European Countries

Are you in need of turn-by-turn navigation for your cycling adventures in Europe? Cyclists rejoice, as Google Maps has just added bike directions to six new European countries: Germany, France, Poland, Ireland, Luxembourg and Liechtenstein.

Just like in other countries where biking navigation is enabled, users can now get a route that uses bike paths and avoids busy streets. They can also get voice turn-by-turn navigation to guide them on their way.

For those who are more adventurous, Google has added some classic cycling routes to Maps, such as Tour de France. Users can also use the biking-directions legend -- activated from the menu on the top-right of the Maps screen -- to find nearby cycling trails.

Finally, cyclists can add data to the Maps themselves by using Google MapMaker, or by tapping the "report a problem" link at the bottom-right of the Maps screen.
