Google Moon Upgrades with "Street" Views

Google has launched an updated version of their Google Moon maps. You'll note that there are new astronaut icons that offer information bubbles for landing sites. There's also a new offering of panoramas of the moon's surface, which have been taken by the Apollo astronauts. For those of you that knew about the "cheese surface" easter egg found in the previous version of Google Moon maps, you'll see that this is now gone, and has been replaced with the new "Street View" panoramas of the moon's surface.

Other upgrades include higher-resolution map imagery, text search, and scientific charts that can be used for accurate mission planning. This revamp brings the Google Moon map to the standards we've seen with Google Mars and Google Sky, and should make for a great starting point if you plan on going for the $20 prize Google's putting up for a robotic moon rover.
