Google Play Now Offers Free Trial for Subscription Apps

Google has enabled app developers to offer their users a free trial period for subscription content. The option lets users "purchase" an app from the Google Play store for free, and cancel it during a week-long trial period.

"For any subscription, you can set up a free trial period that lets users try your subscription content before buying it. The trial period runs for the period of time that you set and then automatically converts to a full subscription managed according to the subscription's billing interval and price," explains Google on its Google Play subscriptions page.

HTC Teams With NASA to Send Nexus One to Space

HTC and NASA have teamed up to send the HTC Nexus One into space. HTC already strapped a Nexus One to a rocket and sent it to the edge of space in 2010, but this time the device has been put through "years of tests" and will go even further away from Earth.

The project is more than a publicity stunt; it's a part of NASA's PhoneSat program, which aims to create small, low-cost, and easy-to-build “nano-satellites.”

Samsung to Unveil Galaxy S III Mini October 11

Samsung will unveil a smaller version of its Android flagship device, the Galaxy S III, tomorrow, Oct. 11.

The new device will be unveiled in Germany and is tailored to the needs of the European market. No details have been made public, except for the screen size: 4 inches.
