Google Play Redesign Highlights Tablet Apps

When you fire up Google Play on your favorite Android tablet starting Nov. 21, you’ll automatically be shown apps and games that are designed for tablets at the top of the list.

Earlier this year, Google Play added a new "designated for tablets” section that highlighted great apps for larger screens. This new feature will expand on that section by listing tablet apps front and center when you shop.

Customers can toggle between tablet-specific apps and those designed for all devices. Apps that aren't intended for the device they’re being viewed on will be marked with a “designed for tablets” or “designed for phones” label, so you know what you’re getting into before you download.

If you’re an Android tablet-app developer, you can ensure your app is included in the new tablet view by checking out Google’s tablet optimizations tips, and double checking that your app has no issues prior to the Nov. 21 launch.
