Google+ Launches Guide for Politicians and Candidates

[img src="https://ssl.gstatic.com/images/icons/gplus-64.png" caption="" credit="" alt="google plus politics"]Google+ has released guidelines for politicians, political organizations, governments, activists and campaigners, in effort to acquaint the demographic with the search engine giant's five-month-old social network.

The guide provides political types with a step-by-step walk through for creating a page. "By creating a Google+ Page for your public office or campaign, you and your staff can promote an issue, platform or cause across the web," the post says. "Regularly posting interesting content, engaging with your followers by asking questions, and sharing photos and videos are all ways to keep people coming back for more."

The post highlights five ways politicians and campaigns can use Google+: to share content, express support, tailor content through circles, host hangouts and share photos. It notes some early adopters' usages, including U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders' polling of his constituents, France's two leading political parties,
