Google has quietly launched a new service called “Shared Stuff” which is a bookmarklet for sharing Web pages. Once installed, a simple “Email / Share” button appears in your bookmarks toolbar, that when clicked allows you to email the Web page you are currently browsing to a friend. The service also includes options for sharing your stuff on various social bookmarking services such as Facebook, del.icio.us, and Digg.

Shared Stuff also creates a page where you can display the items you have shared. For each item you submit, you can choose whether or not you want to display it on your page. Additionally, there is the option to create a simple profile with a photo.

It’s interesting to note that when you share an item, Shared Stuff tells you how many times the page you are looking at has already been shared by others. It looks like this may be an early attempt at a social bookmarking play from Google.
