The rumors of the next Google acquisition are spreading, and the company being eyed is SimplyHired, the job search engine.
SimplyHired has maintained a high profile recently thanks to a deal with MySpace to power MySpace Jobs UK (they already powered a US version), and the Job-a-matic job board for bloggers. The company received angel funding from early Google investors Ron Conway and Rajeev Motwani. Fox Interactive Media and Foundation Capital provided further funding, says the AC.
Other factors make it a good match for Google: the company is based in Mountain View and job search is one of the few areas where Google is lacking. Our take: go ahead and buy it already! The two companies gave no comment on the rumored deal.
