Google Testing Wisdom of Crowds

I'm sure you've heard of James Surowieki's The Wisdom of Crowds, in which he claims that large groups of people are smarter than the most brilliant individuals when it comes to solving problems, making wise decisions, and predicting the future. Google has now announced that it is using a prediction market to test out these theories. But unlike Yahoo's Tech Buzz Game, us ordinary mortals can't join in. At least not yet...
