Google Trends, the search engine’s public tool for monitoring the popularity of different search terms, now updates daily. Previously, Google Trends was only updated once a month, making the data considerably less interesting.
On the Official Google Blog, the company has taken a look at the relative hotness of the three major gaming consoles (Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii, and PS3), showing that they are now running neck and neck in popularity after Wii was number one by a considerable margin earlier this year.
Google has also launched a hot trends gadget, so you can monitor what search terms are hot from Google Reader or your iGoogle start page.
