Of all the Google searches on health over the last year, one predominant theme emerged worldwide: healthy diets and eating well.

How to eat healthy, healthy body mass index parameters, how to lose weight and how to eat healthy on a budget all ranked among the world's top 10 search queries, as well as questions about whether specific foods were healthy.

The following map, provided by Google Trends, shows how different countries rank in their interest of health issues, based on their volume of related searches over the past 12 months.

Seven of the top 10 countries for health-related searches were small island nations, including the Cook Islands, Tuvalu, Bermuda, Grenada, British Virgin Islands, Cuba and Jersey. The remaining three were located in southern Africa -- Swaziland, Lesotho and Botswana.

The five countries with the lowest number of searches on health were all European, with three of the five located in or near the Balkan Peninsula: Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Hungary, Italy and the microstate of San Marino.
