Google Analytics Announces New Features, Urchin Upgrade

Google has announced a number of upgrades to its popular free analytics package. First is a new tool for users of Google Site Search, allowing you to see what keywords people use when searching from within your site. This data can also be used to see how well different searches end up converting visitors into users or customers.

Additionally, the service has began beta testing a new Event Tracking feature which analyzes how users interact with Ajax and Flash, which, are much different metrics than your standard links and HTML pages. The other major new addition is an Outbound Link Tracking feature to see which links user’s click to leave your site.
