Google Video Search in Frames

Google Video has officially become a video search engine. Makes sense. It has some handy features as well, but the most talked about addition is the Google frame that appears at the top of the page when you go to watch a video, offering additional information and search options for your search.

You can now find videos from across the web by doing a Google video search, as it's incorporating clips from several video hosting services including YouTube, AOL, MySpace, MetaCafe, Vimeo and Google itself. There is also the option of expanding the thumbnails from the results page. What appears in the Google frame wrapper when you click a video to watch is similar in function to what you see for a Google Images search, or a cached search, to some extent. From this frame you can email the link to a friend (this function will auto-populate with your GMail address), rate the clip, view related videos, or perform a new search.

There is an option of removing the frame, but a few video services have taken the liberty of breaking the frame and redirecting to the original site, such as MySpace and MetaCafe. You'll also be hard pressed to find video search results that aren't hailing from YouTube.
