GoPro's family of Hero action cameras just got a new sibling: The Hero+ LCD.

GoPro announced on Monday the $299 Hero+ LCD, an entry-level action camera with a built-in touchscreen. The Hero+ LCD joins GoPro's action cameras which start at $130 for the Hero and balloon up to $500 for the Hero4 Black.

Prior to the Hero+ LCD, the only GoPro with a built-in touchscreen was the $400 Hero4 Silver. Users could also buy an LCD TouchPac for $80 or connect their Hero3, Hero3+ or Hero4 to their smartphones via the GoPro app. The Hero+ LCD lowers the barrier for those who want a touchscreen.

The camera records video in 1080p (full HD) at up to 60 frames per second and captures 8-megapixel still photos.

With the touchscreen, you'll be able to frame videos and photo, and adjust camera settings. A new video trimming feature lets you edit clips right from the camera. The HiLight Tagging feature from the higher-end Hero4 cameras, which lets you mark specific moments in a video is also a key Hero+ LCD feature.

Also lifted from the Hero4 is built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth for connecting to a smartphone or tablet via the GoPro app.

The Hero+ LCD supports microSD cards up to 64GB in capacity, has a battery that's good for up to two hours of video recording, and comes in a rugged case that's also waterproof up to 131 feet.

The Hero+ LCD will be available in the U.S. at retailers and from GoPro.com starting on June 7. The camera will be available internationally on July 12.
