Turns out, apes really are just like us: They are also addicted to cell phones.

One visitor at Kentucky's Louisville Zoo had the unusual idea of pulling out his phone and showing one of the resident gorillas, Jelani, pictures of other great apes. The boy scrolled through photos while holding his phone up to the gorilla's face.

To spectators' surprise, Jelani showed significant interest in the phone, peering closely at the photos through the glass barrier. The large ape would motion whenever he was finished looking at a photo, indicating that he was ready to see the next picture.

The gorilla soon became so entranced with the phone that he settled against the glass, leaning comfortably and leisurely taking in the wonders of modern technology.

The video uploader, Paul Ross, stated that he "stumbled upon the boy sharing pictures with Jelani [while] touring the zoo with my one-year-old daughter. The boy was scrolling through gorilla pictures, and Jelani would motion with his hand to move to the next photo. Both seemed to really enjoy sharing the experience."
