GPS Shoes Light Up to Guide The Wearer

British designer Dominic Wilcox is an inventor of everyday things that are creative, whimsical and fun. In his solo show "Variations on Normal" at London's KK Outlet, he unveiled a selection of his quirky designs, including a pair of GPS shoes that will "guide you home no matter where you are in the world." The invention is fittingly called "No Place Like Home" and includes a GPS receiver and a circle of LED lights that illuminate in the direction of the wearer needs to go.

The No Place Like Home shoes were made in collaboration with traditional English shoemaker Stamp Shoes and interactive art technologist Becky Stewart. Other ideas on exhibit are the family poncho, paint brushes turned into hooks and platform shoes to walk up and down hills.
