Gamers are getting the first preview of Grand Theft Auto V's gameplay in a new video released Tuesday by Rockstar Games. The video teases gameplay from the upcoming addition to the Grand Theft Auto franchise. The nearly five-minute video shows off Los Santos -- the biggest open world Rockstar has ever created.
Los Santos is the "satirical re-imagining" of Southern California with L.A.'s most glamorous sections, the seedy parts of the city and the natural beauty surrounding the area. Grand Theft Auto V gives players a chance to jump into a range of different activities in all the settings; the video shows scenes of scuba diving, boating and flying a plane.
The preview also gives a bigger glimpse at the game's three protagonists: Michael, a former bank robber who isn't enjoying the settled-down life; Franklin, a repo-man and street hustler looking to move up in the world; and Trevor, a career criminal who is completely unhinged.
Players will be able to use all three characters in some missions, and cut between vantage points to get a wide swath of gameplay. You'll also be able to switch between the characters off-mission to get a sampling of their different lives across Los Santos.
Grand Theft Auto V comes out Sept. 17 for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
