What's a "dragon wagon," anyway?

Fox's production of Grease: Live surprised fans Sunday night by changing some of the original musical's racier lyrics. "Greased Lightning" appeared to be the most affected song; "the chicks'll cream" turned into "the chicks'll scream," while "pussy wagon" became "dragon wagon."

Viewers hopped onto Twitter to virtually cackle and voice frustration with the lyrical changes. You know, because you can't say "we’ll be getting lots of tit” on television.

#GreaseLive is using SUCH high school production rules for risqué lyrics that they changed "lacy lingerie" to "wedding bouquet."— Joanna Robinson (@jowrotethis) February 1, 2016

I guess they're changing all the inappropriate lyrics we never realized were in grease when we were kids #GreaseLive— Shelby Lynn Kennedy (@shelbs_kenn) February 1, 2016

I see we're going with a clean version of the lyrics, rather than the horrifyingly inappropriate lyrics we all sang as children. #GreaseLive— Julie (@msjuliedarling) February 1, 2016

Stop neutering Grease just do the real lyrics and dialogue.— Agatha Kakological (@heyitsurban) February 1, 2016

HOW DO YOU CHANGE THE LYRICS OF GREASE LIGHTNING— Ian O'Mullan (@MelloNation97) February 1, 2016

The whole "dragon wagon" thing especially tripped people up.

Did he say ... "dragon wagon"? That's not a thing. #GreaseLive— Linda Holmes (@nprmonkeysee) February 1, 2016

I've never enjoyed a lyric change as much as "dragon wagon" in #GreaseLive. #howtotrainMYdragon— Caitlin Ahmann (@awkwardhepburn) February 1, 2016

Nice try, Dragon Wagon. #GreaseLive pic.twitter.com/RkdRim4E75— Aly Semigran (@AlySemigran) February 1, 2016

Everyone was entertained by "the chicks'll scream."

I believe the chicks will cream, sir. Not scream. #GreaseLive— Chloe (@Chloe_Hess) February 1, 2016

How many million times do you think he practiced properly enunciating "The chicks'll scream"? #GreaseLive— Kate Linnea Welsh (@katelinnea) February 1, 2016

The line 'and chicks will scream' prove the power of one extra letter ;) #GreaseLive— John Popa (@JohnThePopa) February 1, 2016

"The chicks will 'scream' for greased lightning." #TooHotForTV #GreaseLive— Mackenzie Kohnen '17 (@mkk2k13) February 1, 2016

And a lot of viewers raised a brow at how these lines were changed while the show didn't bother altering things like "put up a fight" ("Summer Nights") and "hooker" ("Beauty School Dropout").

#GreaseLive changing lyrics but keeping "did she put up a fight" and "no customer would order you unless she was a hooker" is.....confusing.— Caroline Framke (@carolineframke) February 1, 2016

#GreaseLive "Unless she was a hooker" is totally acceptable! #GreaseGenderWatch— Snowstorm of Lies (@spooloflies) February 1, 2016

If they could change the lyrics/lines to reflect Sandy's Utah roots, they could scrap the "put up a fight" lyric. #GreaseLive— Patrick Madden (@Patrick_Madden) February 1, 2016

So they left in "did she put up a fight?" but changed "the chicks'll cream". WHERE DO I BEGIN. #GreaseLive— jdhowa2 (@jdhowa2) February 1, 2016

"Sloppy seconds" and "flog your log" and "did she put up a fight?" stay in. "The chicks'll cream" gets cut. #GreaseLive— Angus Johnston (@studentactivism) February 1, 2016

"Did she put up a fight" aka "was it rape rape or just fun rape. #GreaseLive— Lauren Cook (@LChoochTrain) February 1, 2016

"did she put up a fight" still remains one of the worst lyrics in Summer Nights that should have been pulled by now tbh #GreaseLive— Heather Taylor (@howveryheather) February 1, 2016
