LONDON -- There were puns, pressure and plenty of puff pastry as the Bake Off returned for the first of its special charity episodes.
Four celebrities battled it out Wednesday evening in the The Great Sport Relief Bake Off, a charity version of The Great British Bake Off, with Samantha Cameron, businesswoman and wife of the prime minister, taking the star baker honour home to Downing Street.
Cameron joined comedian Jason Manford, Eastenders actress Maddy Hill and former footballer David James in the tent for three baking challenges: signature, technical and showstopper. Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood were on hand to decide the victor.

The celebrity bakers had to make 24 canapés from scratch for the first test, which wouldn't have been out of place on one of the regular episodes of the series. But things got even more challenging after that point. Cue the choux pastry.
It was Cameron's surf board cake in the showstopper round that won her the contest. Note the icing and sponge in Tory party blue.
Congratulations to all the bakers on #GBBOSportRelief - it's a great cause. Very proud of Sam.— David Cameron (@David_Cameron) January 27, 2016
Ahead of the episode, Cameron -- who was previously the creative director of luxury brand Smythson -- said she was "terrified" about taking part in the show.
"I'm scared that we will have to bake something that I haven’t even heard of and I won’t have a clue what it’s meant to look like," she told The Radio Times. "I practised a little bit as I had certainly never made a canapé!"
At least she steered clear of pork.
I see Samantha Cameron has resisted the temptation to do a pork filling for her canapés #sportreliefbakeoff— Inebriated Anorak (@IontheAnorak) January 27, 2016
