Greece comes to a standstill amid day-long strike and clashes with police

While the demonstrations have been mostly peaceful, Greece's 24-hour strike has basically shut down the country. Around 24,000 people marched in three separate demonstrations in Athens. A small group of protesters threw Molotov cocktails, and police responded with tear gas and stun grenades. Workers are protesting the austerity measures that are part of the country's third bailout.
