While thousands of people celebrated in Athens on Sunday night after Greece rejected austerity demands in a referendum, newspaper editors across the continent worked on front pages that would sum up the historic moment.
"Greek voters defy Europe", "Meltdown" and "Greeky bum time" were just some of the front pages headline writers came up with to convey the gravity of the Greek people's decision on Sunday.
At home, many papers displayed the vote results on the front page, with 61.3% voting "No." A shocked Jeroen Dijsselbloem, president of the Eurogroup appeared on Greece's The Journal of Authors, Ethnos described the result as an earthquake, Typos said it was a great victory for Alexis Tsipras while Avgi marked it with photos capturing scenes of celebrations from Sunday night.
