Playlist.com has offered embeddable playlists for a while now, as have a few others, so I was intrigued to see how Grooveshark's Widgets added up in comparison. Sites like Playlist.com work by scanning the Web for music to play. Grooveshark's method of finding stored files works much better in playback.
Another feature of the Grooveshark Widget experience is being able to customize the widget appearance. You can make your widget match the theme of the site it will appear on in color and size. You also determine the playlist you want, and can change the songs on it at any time from the Grooveshark Widget dashboard. Grooveshark will then update your widget - no messing around with changing code each time your musical tastes change.
