Mobile social network Groovr officially launched this week with a couple of new features, which circles around an improved local search, and other integrated options.

The local search has been enhanced with the inclusion of photos and videos that are related to your query, giving you more context to whatever your search may be. This improved search functionality aims to be real time, so you can be updated with your own city or a different location as well.

On the integration end, there are now more update options that span across devices to give you more access to your groovr network and account. That means that you can send in updates via email, the web, and SMS text messaging. The purpose of this is to create a Virtual Chat Room, where several people can contribute to an interactive conversation regarding any topic.

What this feature really reminds me of is the casual event-planning tools used by Renkoo and Planypus (minus the instant messenger integration), which makes sense for a mobile-centric networking tool, though groovr's doesn't appear to be designed only for planning get-togethers. However, it does seem that groovr is really pushing this new integrated access feature, which ties in with its goals for creating a real-time mobile network.
