Gruvr, the real-time updating map for tracking band tours, has added another feather to its widget hat. This time, gruvr's widget is a map of an individual band's tour locations.
As with Gruvr's main website offering, the widget is updated as more band information comes through. You may remember gruvr's initial widget, which offered tour information for a band you're tracking. While this first widget gave tour location details, it didn't have a map. You'd have to go back to gruvr's website for that data.
Now this new widget map picks up where the first widget left off. The downside here is that the two gruvr widget's stand alone. So hopefully gruvr's next widget will combine the tour tracker with the map tracker, and all the widgets can better get along.
Reverb Nation is another site that's been churning out widgets that are full of features, including a map of a band's tour locations. And with Platial's recent acquisition of Frappr, it's clear that map widgets are still popular.
