Citizens Document Massive Volcano Eruption in Guatemala [PICS, VIDEO]

Guatemala's Volcán de Fuego, an active volcano near Antigua, Guatemala, began erupting Thursday afternoon. The sudden volcanic activity forced more than 33,000 people to evacuate the area.

The country's head of emergency evacuations told the Associated Press that the eruption caused ash to fall nearly 2,000 feet down the mountain as it was rocked by explosions.

Residents near the volcano used their cellphones to document the eruptions, giving the rest of the world a first-hand and immediate look:
