Habbo, a online virtual community for teens, has announced that they will be hosting the Habbowood Digital Movie Awards (HDMA) Gala on Friday, September 21st.

The awards are the culmination of a film contest that started when Habbo launched their Habbowood MovieMaker tool on September 4th. Since it's introduction, more than 230,000 movies have been created by the users in North America. Obviously the new application is making film making easier in the virtual world since last yea's total was 140,000.

The events will kick off at 3:00 PM PDT and will include events such as a Red Carpet introduction for the nominees, the actual awards show, and will be capped off with two after parties for everyone to mingle.
