HadToSay: Web-to-Print System for Anonymous Love (Or Hate) Letters

HadToSay is a fun new site that is modernizing the secret admirer letter. The basic premise is that you create an anonymous message, print out a notification card, and then discretely get it to the recipient. The recipient can then take the message ID # and PIN # on the card and see the message on HadToSay. Here’s what the print out looks like:

If the recipient chooses to login to HadToSay, they can reply to the sender, and a conversation can ensue. This sort of takes the “if you feel the same way meet me under the flag pole at 5pm” shadiness out of secret admirer letters (not that I’ve ever done that) and opens up the line of communication. Beyond love notes, I imagine this could also be used for anonymously telling your boss that employees have had enough and need more vacation time, once again, hypothetically :)

In addition to being able to create your own messages, you can also snoop on what other anonymous conversations users are having. Overall, it seems like a kind of silly idea, but given the popularity of applications like Honesty Box on Facebook, I wouldn’t write it off as just another novelty just yet.

The team behind HadToSay also put together an amusing commercial of sorts for the site:
