iPad Launch Looks to be Dominated by Gaming Apps [STATS]

It seems as if the Apple iPad will uphold the iPhone platform's strong gaming heritage, as almost half of the apps being tested on the device fall into the games category.

While apps classed as "entertainment" come in second, gaming apps are said to command 44% of Apple test time on the new device, according to stats from Flurry.

At the moment, we're not sure why so much time is being devoted to games -- it could be because such apps require more thorough testing (the iPad runs the iPhone operating system, after all, so most apps will only need to be re-sized) or it could be indicative of the type of apps that will be available. Only time will tell.
