UPDATE: Due to bad weather the event has been postponed pending a reschedule. Mashable Australia will update this story as more information follows.

One of the biggest games of the year, Halo 5: Guardians, is getting a fitting grand entrance in Australia before it launches globally on Oct. 27.

The first 10 minutes of the Guardians campaign will be played on the world's biggest aerial screen and flown 209 metres (6,000 feet) above the Sydney coastline. The screen measures 20,000 square feet and is visible from more than three kilometres away.

The event will begin at 7:30 p.m. local time on Thursday, Oct. 26, with the big screen making its way down the Sydney coastline, from Curl Curl to Coogee beach, before returning back up the coast. One fan who preordered the game through Microsoft's official online store will be randomly selected to play the game in the helicopter carting the screen around.

The event will definitely be one to look out for, but we just hope it goes off without a hitch -- or rain.

Guardians is the first original Halo game for Xbox One, and Microsoft has been steadily teasing fans with footage and gameplay for many months in the lead-up to the release.

Let's also hope whoever gets to play the game in the sky doesn't fall victim to glitches or die too often. No pressure, there's only a few thousand people watching you.
