Go Green: Join Us for a Live Chat on Sustainability

It started with those blue recycle bins placed in primary school classrooms. Then there were documentaries on sea creatures strangled by plastic soda can connecters and of course, Al Gore's An Inconvenient Truth that got the conversation going on climate change and our role in it.

But what has long existed as a subculture devoted to respecting our planet is now something of a trend.

"Going Green" is perhaps an overused slogan, and has impacted products from handbags to homes. Despite the slew of falsely advertised products, there are many good-willing people who merely desire to be conscious about what they buy. One such person is Emily Doubliet, who loves nature and throwing parties, and started a company called Susty Party to help others buy products verified to be sustainable.

On Thursday at 2 p.m. EST, we'll join Doubliet for a Google+ Hangout to talk about the sustainable space -- what heavy technology users can do to be more respectful of nature, what it's like to run a startup from Brooklyn and of course, what makes for a great party.
