China's most famous ice festival opened to the public Tuesday.

The Harbin International Snow and Ice Festival is in its 32nd year, and is expected to draw several million visitors to the chilly northern Chinese city of Harbin in Heilongjiang.

One of the attractions, the Harbin Ice and Snow World, covers some 750,000 square metres. According to the Chinese government, the structures required over 330,000 cubic metres of ice and snow.

While the show officially opened on Jan. 5, preparations have been under way for some time, while workers carved and set up the many impressive snow and ice sculptures. The show will run through the end of February.
