Every respectable Harry Potter fan knows the Hogwarts origin story.
The four most powerful wizards and witches of the age gathered together and created a school so they could teach magical kids how to turn a rat into a water goblet and other useful life skills. For their troubles, their names were honored forever as the school's four houses --Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, Gryffindor and Slytherin. What's not exactly clear is why Slytherin, the muggle-born hater, was invited to the cool kid's table.
