Hashable Is Shutting Down

The virtual business card startup Hashable is shutting down. "We regret to inform you that the Hashable mobile apps and Hashable.com will be shutting down on July 25th. The service will be unavailable after this date," said Hashable in an email to users.

The founders will start a new company, focusing on mobile ads.

IDC and Gartner Say the PC Market Was Flat in Q2 2012

Global PC shipments totaled 87.5 million units in Q2 2012, which is a decline of 0.1 percent compared to the same period last year, according to Gartner. IDC says the number was 86.7 million units, claiming a similar 0.1 percent decline in shipments.

Globally, nothing has changed: HP, Lenovo, Acer, Dell and Asus are the top five PC manufacturers. In the US, Apple was doing good, sitting firmly at third place behind HP and Dell, with a 1.2% growth according to both Gartner and IDC.

Angry Birds Come to Samsung's Smart TV

Owners of Samsung's Smart TVs can now play Rovio's hit game Angry Birds by controlling the sling shot using motion control gestures, Samsung has announced. The game is available as a Smart TV app.
