Parents Can Set Volume Limits With These Kid-Sized Headphones

Your kids like your iPad, so it's likely they use your headphones too. Now they can have their own, kid-sized pair with sound quality on-par with yours. On Tuesday, Fuhu, Inc., released child-sized headphones, called nabi Notes, with what the compay calls "DJ-quality" sound.

The nabi Notes are "high-quality headphones that are just as high-end as the ones grown-ups use, but designed with uniquely child-sized components for our younger audio fans," said Fuhu in a statement.

The lightweight, over-the-ear design and child-sized headband fit a smaller head. The padded ear cups fit comfortably over little ears, too.

Using nabi mode, parents can limit the volume to 80dB to protect their child's hearing. A light will indicate when nabi mode is active. The dual modes allow for switching volume limiting on and off -- between parent-controlled and no controls. The headphones also come with a tangle-resistant cord.

Fuhu compares these headphones to the sound quality of "Beats, Ludacris Soul and other high-end headphones."

Children can also personalize their headphones with KINABI letters and characters. KINABI are block letters and characters used for nabi products; the headphones feature a grid that can hold the tiles. The headphones have one KINABI attachment on each side.

The headphones retail for $99 and will be available for limited release in late December and will fully launch in January 2013.

The first product in the nabi line was the Android tablet for kids. It could also be personalized with KINABI.
