The Hello Bar mimics the trendy design of full-featured social products like the Digg Bar or the Ow.ly Social Bar, but with a pared-down set of data to deliver users a clear and simple desired action on a collapsible bar.

Resting at the top of any web page, the Hello Bar is instantly noticeable without being invasive or annoying. It's great for any website owner with a product to sell, an event to promote or special content to highlight.

By simply copy/pasting the JavaScript into any website's HTML, you get a customizable bar. You can pick any color you like, customize a message and link for your website visitors and choose between serif and sans serif text. (We have to admit, the lack of font choices was disappointing, especially from a company with such a thrilling slab logotype!)

If you would rather have the Hello Bar display a more dynamic message, you can also plug in an RSS feed, such as a blog feed, a Twitter feed, a Facebook feed or a tricky feed of your own design.

Here's what the Hello Bar looks like on my site right now with my Tumblr RSS feed:

In addition to content, you can also customize the bar's placement and transition effects; you can also choose to set the bar to automatically hide itself after a given interval. You can run multiple Hello Bars on multiple sites.

And turning a Hello Bar off (or on again, should you change your mind) doesn't require revisiting your website's source code; there's a simple on/off switch in your Hello Bar dashboard. This one feature alone makes the Hello Bar a great choice for limited-time promotions, such as special events.

The company that makes the Hello Bar said it's also adding stats reporting for clickthroughs and impressions. A mobile version is also in the company's roadmap.

Digital-telepathy also makes SlideDeck, a jQuery plugin for beautiful animated sliders. Implementing SlideDeck is a bit more complicated than cut/paste, but for web designers, it's a great shortcut for getting a top-notch design element onto a page.

If you think you'd like to give the Hello Bar a spin, we've got 250 invites just for you. Go to the company's site and use the beta code "mashable."
