The hero cat that saved a 4-year-old boy from a vicious dog attack earlier this week is hitting the big leagues. Well, technically, the minor leagues.

California's Bakersfield Blaze announced on Twitter that Tara the cat and its family will have the honor of throwing out the first pitch at Tuesday's game.

Tara's press tour has also included interviews on NBC's Today and ABC News.

ABC News reports that the cat adopted the Triantafilo family five years ago when she followed them home from the park. When their son Jeremy was a newborn, Tara "climbed into his crib and curled up beside him."
