There are awkward moments in every debate. Sometimes they flub. Sometimes they make anal references.

And sometimes they disappear altogether.

During Saturday night's Democratic debate, ABC cut back from commercial to the live debate, only to find that Hillary Clinton wasn't at her podium. The moderators continued, regardless.

"Sorry," Clinton quickly said, after returning to the stage.

Conspiracy tweets on Twitter followed, shortly therafter. What, exactly, was Clinton up to?

During the Las Vegas debate in October, Clinton made a similar mistake when she decided to take a bathroom break.

"You know, it does take me a little longer. That’s all I can say," Clinton said at the time.
