LONDON -- Footage captured Sunday from a drone and a jetskier shows a 51,000-tonne car transporter leaning by 52 degrees on a sandbank between Southampton and the Isle of Wight.

The Höegh Osaka was deliberately run aground Saturday evening after it began to list shortly after it left the Port of Southampton bound for Germany.

The 25 crew members onboard the ship were all safely rescued by lifeboats and a coastguard helicopter, two were taken to hospital. The Höegh Osaka is a 179-metre, Singapore-registered cargo ship built in 2000.

It's not yet clear how the Höegh Osaka got into difficulty. When asked, the company that owns the ship said it was only one-third full. It is reported to have been carrying a fleet of luxury Bentley cars.

"At this stage it is too early to speculate on the cause of the list but we are starting an immediate investigation. Right now we have serious work ahead of us in order to free the vessel from the Bramble Bank without disrupting the flow of traffic in and out of the Port of Southampton," CEO of Höegh Autoliners said in a statement on Sunday.

"Our chief concern now is to ensure there is no environmental damage from this incident."
