Over the years, many Muggles have devoted themselves to the painstaking task of figuring out how many galleons it would take to buy yourself a year at Hogwarts. Most recently, Mic calculated that tuition costs $43,031, plus an additional $1,031 for school supplies.

Rowling clarifies that The Ministry of Magic covers magical education, because apart from Dementors and dark lords trying to kill you, the wizarding world is a utopia.

@emmalineonline1 @micnews There's no tuition fee! The Ministry of Magic covers the cost of all magical education!— J.K. Rowling (@jk_rowling) July 17, 2015

You will need to dip into your Gringotts vault for robes and wands. But rest assured: Dumbledore does not greet you with his own rendition of "Bitch Better Have My Money" upon arrival at Hogwarts.
