Ronald Sanderson was an amateur photographer who lived in the town of South Shields, England. Over the course of several holiday seasons in the 1960s, he photographed festive shopping displays at boutiques and department stores in South Shields and the nearby town of Newcastle-upon-Tyne.His photographs were donated to the collection of the Tyne & Wear Archives & Museums, where they stand as a visual record of the corny and charming advertisements of the time.
