Pro-democracy demonstrations on the streets of Hong Kong grew on Wednesday, as a two-day national holiday began. The largely student-driven protests are demanding the resignation of Hong Kong's Chief Executive Leung Chun-ying (also known as CY Leung), as well as democratic elections for his successor. The protest has been dubbed the "Umbrella Revolution" for the umbrellas that have dominated the cityscape since it began.

Some demonstrators said they will begin occupying buildings in Hong Kong if their demands for Leung's resignation aren't met by Oct. 2.
