Hot Pockets Ad Tries to Get Laughs From Stalker Situation

The Hot Pockets brand tries to wring some laughs at the expense of stalkers in this new collaboration with Funny or Die.

In the four-minute video, a man breaks up with his old Hot Pocket and starts cavorting with a new version made with 100% Angus beef. Things take an ugly turn when the man is kidnaped by his old flame and held hostage. Then things get weird.

The ad's reference to stalkers and hostage situations may raise some hackles. But the bizarre, deadpan scenario is brand-appropriate. Past ads from the Nestle brand have featured Snoop Dogg's rap ("Got some cheesy drizzle dripping on my shizzle") and an ad featuring David Hasselhoff as Günther "Mr. Lean" Hasselhoff -- his mincing, German-accented cousin.
