Australia's new Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull has got all the validation he needs -- in a tweet from the award-winning Netflix series, House of Cards.

On Monday morning, Sunrise host David Koch asked Turnbull whether him and his wife Lucy -- Australia's new power couple -- had anything in common with the political drama's main characters Frank and Claire Underwood. Underwood, who is played by Kevin Spacey, is a conniving usurper who takes the presidency of the United States by force.

"I've got nothing in common with Frank Underwood other than that we both use a rowing machine," Turnbull said, in reference to the workout machine of choice in the show. "I've got a different model, actually."

It seems whoever is manning the Twitter account for House of Cards disagrees. In a witty tweet, it urged Turnbull to "stop by anytime" with a GIF of the infamous rowing machine.

Turnbull overthrew the former prime minister Tony Abbott one week ago, in a way that made comparisons to Underwood obvious. He is the fourth prime minister in a matter of years, three of whom have gained power by internal party coups.
