UPDATE, 12:35 p.m. GMT Dec. 11: A 19-year-old man turned himself in to police Thursday and was arrested on suspicion of theft.

LONDON -- Metropolitan Police are appealing for information about a hoverboard-assisted thief who breezily stole a crate of Lucozade from a London supermarket.

The footage, released by police today, shows the man riding in to a Co-op supermarket on Streatham Road, Mitcham, on Sept. 6. He makes his way over to the drinks aisle, nonchalantly picks up a crate of Lucozade, then coasts back out again.

Appeal to identify #Hoverboard riding suspect in connection with theft in #Mitcham. Call 101 quoting ref19206 https://t.co/BbFWpGe2QS— Metropolitan Police (@metpoliceuk) December 10, 2015

We're not sure if it's the nature of the CCTV footage, but there's a strangely dreamlike quality to the whole thing. The guy even reverses his board at one point to line himself up with the supermarket door, as if he's doing nothing more dramatic than going out for a gentle morning ride.

Metropolitan Police have issued the following photo of the man and are asking anyone with information to contact them on 101 (quoting image number 192069), or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
