The FDA's proposal on limiting sugar to 50 grams of added sugar per day for people over the age of 3 seems to be a pretty simple one.
After all, 50 grams of added sugar sounds like a lot, right?

Think again. There are 39 grams of sugar in a can of Coke, and defining added sugar will be important for how the new rule may be applied.
In fact, it's frighteningly easy to hit the 50 grams of sugar mark during just one meal, let alone the whole day.
