How McDonald’s Really Makes French Fries [VIDEO]

McDonald's Canada has released a video that shows the journey a potato makes from the farm to the restaurant. In a continuation of its transparency series, the fast food chain reveals how it makes its famous french fries.

The potatoes are mainly harvested from farms in New Brunswick, Alberta, and Manitoba. They are sorted, washed, peeled and cut into the standard strips. Then they are blanched, dried, and fried for 45-60 seconds before being frozen and sent to the restaurants. There, the fries are cooked in 100% vegetable oil, salted, and served to the customers. Watch the video above to see exactly how the fries are made.
