You probably already know how to customize ring tones on your iPhone, but there's a way to personalize vibrations to tell who's calling, too.

With a few setting adjustments, it's easy to set up customized vibration so you can know when mom's calling, even if your phone is on the other side of the room.

Here's what to do: First, open the contact for whom you want to assign a custom vibration. Tap Edit > Vibration > and select the vibration you'd like to include, from staccato to heartbeat. You can choose one of these or create an entirely new vibration.

To do so, select Create New Vibration and tap on the screen to record a rhythm that will be translated into a vibration. After approving, hit save, give it a name and you’re in business.

Now you'll know who's calling the next time you're in a meeting and you won't even need to look at your phone screen.
