HP has announced a number of deals with major web sites that will be utilizing the printing technology the company acquired from Tabblo. Disney.com, Windows Live Space, Flickr, and the makers of the Graffiti application on Facebook are the initial partners and will be adding features to their respective web sites that utilize HP’s tools.

For an example of the technology, on the popular Graffiti app on Facebook, users will now be able to print out their creations after the HP tool converts the selected image into a PDF (example here). Meanwhile, HP is teaming up with Flickr to launch the HP Community Mosaic, a marketing campaign that will involve Flickr users submitting photos relating to specific topics. Users will then be able to select and print their favorite mosaics.

HP acquired Tabblo in March, and as per their plans, they have re-purposed what was initially a tool for printing photo books into a tool for printing all different types of Web content. Printing off the Web can be a huge pain, and its large niche for HP to go after. What would be really nice to see is a developer program that allows any web site to integrate the technology.
